Emergency First Response
This is a great course for anyone who would like to be able to help others in an emergency situation. Many people say they would be more likely to help if they had more confidence in their First Aid/CPR skills, and a better understanding of simple things they can do in an emergency.

Requirements:
-No minimum age requirement, however there are some skills requiring strength!
-This course is for divers and non-divers!

Knowledge Development:
-Choose from an e-learning program or a book version for your independent learning
-These materials will take you through simple to use steps for performing first aid and CPR, and will help you understand why and when you should use your skills.
-After reading through the materials, you will take written exams to confirm your understanding .

Practical Application:
-We will practice the skills learned in your home-study over approximately 2-3 hours
-During CPR skills practice you will assess a scene, assist patients who aren’t breathing, and may have no heartbeat.  You will practice performing CPR, AED usage, and monitoring the patient while waiting for emergency services to arrive.
-During the First Aid skills practice you will assess injuries & illnesses, care for patients who may have a spinal injury, may be in shock, or who may have serious bleeding.  You will learn how to provide first aid that eases pain and reduces the risk of further harm to patients who are not in a life-threatening situation, and practice bandaging & splinting.
-We will also give a brief overview of using emergency oxygen.

Emergency Oxygen Provider
One of the most important factors in managing diving emergencies is administering emergency oxygen. This course will help you identify how and when to use emergency oxygen, and strongly compliments the Rescue Diver and EFR courses.

Requirements:
-No minimum age requirements
-This course is great for divers and non-divers!

Knowledge Development:
-Independent study will be achieved by reading through the Emergency Oxygen Provider manual.
-The materials will cover dive injuries, various emergency oxygen equipment, and safety considerations when using oxygen Practical Application
-Once independent study is completed, students will meet for 1-2 hours for the in-person practical component.
-You will practice assembling & disassembling emergency oxygen equipment, deploying a non-rebreather mask & demand inhalator valve on a breathing patient, and using a pocket mask on a non-breathing diver.
-We will also work through integrating the use of emergency oxygen with CPR/First Aid.
